shoe shopping, manicures, why I will never be able to look at cheesecake ever again, and a random thing lem made me

January 10, 2010

Yesterday, I went shoe shopping with Kat and Courtney. I don’t like shoe shopping, or most other types of shopping in any way. However, I do like Kay and Courtney, so I had my hopes up that shoe shopping with Kat and Courtney would be at least tolerable, and hopefully even fun.

It started off promising. We met at Chapters, where I looked for the Javascript book and everyone else generally browsed. The book I was looking for wasn’t in stock, but that’s okay, because I probably won’t have time to read it for a while and I there’s a store in Hamilton that has it in stock.

So then we went to the Shoe store, which has a name but I forget what it is. I don’t care at all about fashion, so it’s always a good idea to have these two on hand when it comes to any types of purchases. Kat declared that if I were to wear black shoes, she would not come to my wedding, which I thought was really really funny. Courtney went into former shoe store employee mode and directed us and made me try on shoes, and they picked out a pair of 1-inch sandal shoes with sparkly things on them, and also a pair of satiny slippers. It took a total of half an hour and was relatively painless.

Afterwards, we were all like ‘What should we do now?” and somebody[1] suggested that we go get manicures, and that sounded like more fun than going shopping or simply going to Kat’s apartment, and it was too early for dinner, so off we went to get manicures. There we discussed completely inappropriate things in not very well veiled terms quite loudly, and laughed a lot. It was fun.

These were our colour chocies. I was hooker red, Kat was subtle pink, and Courtney was the maroonish colour

Then somebody was all like, “Let’s go get some cheesecake”[2] and we were off to the cheesecake factory. Kat wanted to show us a girl she’s into in a way that wasn’t all “hey, look at that hot girl over there”, so she told us that she would tell us about the lovely piece of cheesecake when she walked by. This devolved into hilariousness and innuendo and now I can never think of cheesecake without thinking of Kat saying “maybe its the kind of cheesecake that will allow me to eat it”

Then we went to a Thai place for dinner.

Then we forced some person who just had eye surgury and couldn't really see to take our picture

And then we went back to Kat’s place and did the elevator dance, and then Courtney and I forced Kat to sign up for Twitter, and then we talked some more about cheesecake and other randomness.

And then this morning, I got this comment from the lem and then about half an hour ago I got this picture from the lem, who loves ’shopping things into other things.

And that’s it.

1: Some will suggest that “somebody” was me. I will deny this forever, regardless of the facts.
2: This was not me. Honestly.
