It’s no secret that they’ve brought back American Gladiators. In fact, the series finale has already happened for this year. I still want to talk about it though.

I loved the original show. So campy, so great, so much fun. The new version of the show, I’m not so sure about. I don’t like the reality TV ’suspense music’, the pretending to start an event and then cutting to commercials instead. It’s gimmicky. The thing about the original was that the eliminator was a gimmick enough. No need for a those other things. Just people stand on a pedestal with a giant Q-Tip, pummeling each other. Good times.

Other comments: The female gladiators are really popping out of their uniforms. That can’t be comfortable. I don’t enjoy that the larger female gladiator is called Helga. I don’t know why they needed to put every event over a water pit. The guy who won I’m pretty sure is on the crack or a lot of anti-depressants. I miss the event where they have the giant hamster balls.

The show is much better if watched via your computer, where you can skip all the interviews. Takes 20 minutes to watch a 60 minute show.
